This is the Swedish doily lace we used to make the half moon stud earrings.

  • These sterling silver half moon stud earrings are ultra light and frame the face beautifully. 'Fina' means beautiful and elegant in Swedish and that is a perfect name for these versatile earrings. Wear them during the day into the evening. The lace we used inside are from small, hand crocheted Swedish cotton doilies from the 1940s. The scalloped edge of the earrings is the outer edge of the round doily.

"when I laid eyes on the Fina (Swedish for elegant, fin) silver earrings... I knew they belonged to me. I love the delicacy and history of the exquisite lace. I love the way they are different from the hanging ones in that they attach in the middle of the earring (hiding perhaps a pierced hole) and in the center of your ear. I can't wait for a festive event - will there ever be one???- and proudly wear them. I give thanks to Monika for her amazing creativity."
